Dr Graham Lauridsen

Senior Veterinarian and Director (BVSc)

Graham started working in Tully in 1996 and enjoys all aspects of Veterinary work in Tropical North Queensland. Working with ‘All Creatures, great and small’, he can never decide which animal species is actually his favourite. He can be out with cattle and horses one day, and in the clinic dealing with a dog with a broken leg the next.

Graham works in conjunction with the Qld Department of Environment on the region’s iconic endangered species, the Cassowary, and has written several scientific articles on their care and anaesthesia. He also travels into Cape York to assist the Aboriginal Shire Councils in improving the welfare of the animals that live in these communities.


Dr Callan Solari

Senior Veterinarian and Director (BVSc)

Callan graduated from James Cook University in 2012, where he received an academic medal. He also received the prestigious Don Kerr Memorial Award in 2013 – awarded to one graduate in Australia for excellence in Cattle Medicine.

Growing up in Ingham and Charters Towers on family cattle properties, Callan is a North Queensland local. He has a wide variety of veterinary interests, particularly all things beef cattle and cattle reproduction. In his spare time, Callan enjoys spending time with his young family and developing his Brahman stud herd.


Dr Zane Squarci

Senior Veterinarian and Director (BVSc)

Zane is a North Queensland local.  Having grown up in Innisfail he is very used to the humidity and the wet season.  Zane started working for us in our Ingham clinic but has now settled at our Innisfail clinic.  Zane has a wide range of interests in Veterinary Science.

He enjoys hiking, races both mountain bikes and motorbikes and enjoys exploring what the local region has to offer. Zane is a mad fisherman and especially enjoys spearfishing, with any spare time being spent on trips to the reef.  If you want any tips on how to catch a crayfish he is your man.


Dr Tobin Stubbs

Senior Veterinarian and Director (BVSc)

Tobin was born and raised on a cane farm in the Burdekin. He always had many pets, from pigs to dogs as well as a barramundi pond.

With a particular interest in orthopaedic surgery, Tobin leads our team in Ayr.


Dr Shannen

Senior Veterinarian and Director (BVSc)

Shannen grew up on a beef cattle property in Bowen and wanted to be a vet since she was a little girl.

Graduating from JCU in 2016 she began her career in a small clinic in Bowen. After a couple of years, she moved back to Townsville and recently joined the North Shore team.

Shannen has a keen interest in building her skills as a mixed practice vet and enjoys the variety that mixed practice brings, however she also enjoys small animal surgery. In her spare time, she is usually at home helping her parents on the property or spending time with her Husband, 3 dogs (Salisbury, Lolly and Minty) and 1 cat (Lily).


Dr Alicia

Senior Veterinarian & Clinic Manager (BVSc)

Born and bred in Tropical North QLD, Alicia has finally returned to her roots in the North. Alicia joined us in 2021 as our 'internal locum', but is now based in our Atherton clinic.

After graduating from JCU in 2016, Alicia started her career in mixed practice down in South East QLD braving calvings in the freezing cold and learning about real winters. Still nothing puts a bigger smile on her face than delivering calves, crias, lambs, puppies or any other babies she gets to help come into the world! Alicia says she loves the variety of mixed practice and the wonderful people she meets in all of the small-town communities she's worked. She enjoys helping owners help their pets live longer happier lives. 

In her spare time you'll find her adventuring with friends or spending time with her family.


Lauren

Senior Veterinarian & Clinic Manager (BVSc)

Dr. Lauren originates from Victoria, where she completed a science degree in marine biology and zoology before moving north to study Vet Science at UQ.

Lauren graduated in 2015, and has been working in mixed practice ever since. The last four years have been spent running her own mobile vet service in the Western Downs before making the move to Ingham in April 2023 to join Tropical Vets.

Lauren loves all aspect of mixed practice, but in particular small animal medicine and cattle work. When not at work you’ll find her exploring far North Queensland with her young family and spending time with her two crazy kelpies, Morella and Olive.


Dr Hannah

Senior Veterinarian & Clinic Manager (BVSc)

Growing up in Rockhampton, Hannah always had a variety of family pets and a fascination with animals of all shapes and sizes.

She always knew she wanted to work with animals, which led her to study veterinary science at JCU in Townsville, graduating in 2018 with an academic medal, small animal medicine award and a clinical competency award. It was also where she fell in love with the tropical NQ lifestyle and was excited to be staying up North to work at the Tully clinic!

Hannah enjoys all challenges of mixed practice, with a particular interest in soft tissue surgery, small animal medicine, and everything exotics and wildlife.

Outside the clinic, Hannah is kept busy by her fur babies "Lilo" and "Stich" and also enjoys playing piano, going out to the reef spearfishing with her partner, and swimming/cycling/running.


Dr Rhianna

Senior Veterinarian & Clinic Manager (BVSc)

Ever since Rhianna was a little girl, she was adamant she was going to become a vet, with plenty of different pets whilst growing up she knew her future was set to include life's furry creatures. 

Rhianna hails from a small town just outside of Rockhampton but spent her university years in Townsville. Since graduating in 2016 she has worked as a small animal veterinarian in both small and mixed clinics in Rockhampton and Mackay, but in 2022 made the move back to Tropical Townsville with her little family. Rhianna particularly enjoys soft tissue surgery and small animal medicine. 

Rhianna enjoys spending her time outside the clinic with her husband, 3 young children, 2 dogs (Lilo and Aladdin) and cat (Stitch) who all keep her quite busy!


Dr Madi

Senior Veterinarian & Clinic Manager (BVSc)

Madi grew up on a cattle property near Richmond QLD.  She graduated from JCU in 2017 then spent 3 years working at a mixed practice in Mackay before moving to the Burdekin.

While Madi loves all the variety that mixed practice offers, she has a particular interest in ultrasonography and feline medicine.  This might have something to do with Madi being a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady.  Her cat Willow won't allow any more cats in the family, so Madi settled for a very loved dog named Moxxi (pictured).

Madi would love to spend most of her free time in the water - Water-skiing, scuba diving or just a swim in the creek.  On dry land, Madi likes a good card game and spending time with family and friends.


Dr Julia

Senior Veterinarian (BVSc)

Julia loves veterinary science with an interest in birds, exotics, reptiles, as well as anaesthesia and surgery in dogs and cats. She joined "Tropical Vets" original owners "Lacey and Gough" in 1986 and following locums in the UK became a partner/director of "Innisfail/Tully Vet Clinic" in 1995 which became "Tropical Vet Services" in 2011.

Julia and Russell married in 1992. She enjoys long walks with her dog “Shelby”, gardening, yoga and travel.


Dr Lauren

After graduating from James Cook University in 2015 and working in South East Queensland for a year, Lauren then returned to work in her home town.

Based in our Ingham clinic, Lauren has an interest in both small and large animals. She enjoys horse-riding, yoga and baking in her spare time.

Growing up in Cairns, Kelly graduated from James Cook University in 2012.  She is very interested in working in mixed practice and works with us in Ingham due to the variety of animals that are in the area.  


Dr Renee

Senior Veterinarian (BVSc)

Renee grew up on remote cattle properties in Central and Western Queensland before heading to James Cook University in Townsville to study. Since graduation, Renee worked at our Tully clinic for a period of time before spending some time away working in a specialist equine hospital before returning to our Ingham team.

Renee loves talking 'anything horses' all day long... make sure you pop into our Ingham clinic and say HAYYYY!


Dr Maxine

Senior Veterinarian (BVSc)

Maxine grew up in Ingham and, from as far back as she can remember, always wanted to be a vet. Graduating from James Cook University in 2013, she spent five and a half years at a wonderful clinic in Mackay before moving back to Ingham.

Maxine loves being a vet - especially when she gets to meet so many animals each day and getting to spend my days filled with them! Her particular interest is all things 'small animals' - particularly small animal medicine and opthalmology. She has a cat named Lilly and in her spare time loves spending time with family and friends.


Dr Jessie

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Jessie grew up in a small beach community outside of Gladstone.  She was fortunate enough to grow alongside an abundant variety of animals, and as a result, fell in love with all aspects of veterinary medicine from a young age.  

Jessie has a strong interest in ultrasonography, soft tissue surgery and clinical pathology, and is kept busy at home by 2 naughty cats and countless fish.  Outside of the clinic, Jessie loves to cook, go swimming, fishing and camping.


Dr Stacey

Veterinarian (BVSc)

After spending her teenage years travelling around Queensland competing horses, Stacey knew she wanted a career in the veterinary profession. This led her to study veterinary science at JCU where she took a keen interest in everything from cats to cattle. Truly enjoying every aspect of mixed practice, Stacey is based at the Ayr clinic and is excited to take on any challenge that comes her way.

Outside of the clinic, Stacey enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs, camping, and exploring the beautiful places our wonderful state has to offer.


Dr Kat

Veterinarian (BVSc)

After graduating from James Cook University in 2020, Dr Kat fell in love with the North and has since been based at our Ingham clinic. She has an interest in small ruminants and small animal medicine.

Kat enjoys hiking, staying active, and tending to her plants with her pup, Wally, by her side. 


Dr Tori

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Tori started her career in the Whitsundays as a mixed practice vet and now is a part of our team at North Shore.

Tori has a keen interest in equine medicine and small animal surgery. 

When she’s not at work you will find her fishing on the reef or immersed in a book.


Dr Erin

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Dr Erin moved up from freezing Canberra to study at JCU, graduating in 2021. Enjoying the tropical weather, she decided to call Townsville home, now working at the North Shore clinic.

Erin is keen to work with animals of all kinds, including wildlife and unusual pets.

Outside of work Erin likes to help out at church, hang out with her two rescue cats, tend to her worm farm, and stay up late drinking tea and crocheting.


Dr Meg

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Meg joined our Tropical Vets team after graduating from JCU in 2021. After departing FNQ to globe trot at an early age, she couldn’t wait to get back to the Tablelands and the rural lifestyle it has to offer. Now based out of our Atherton clinic, Meg is willing to give anything a go and can’t wait to meet you and your creatures big or small!

In her spare time, you will find Meg exploring creeks, crawling up mountains or basking in the sun with her bearded dragon - Apollo.


Dr Amberlee

Veterinarian (BSc BVSc)

Amberlee joined Tropical Vets’ Ingham team after graduating from JCU in 2021. Amberlee was born in Victoria but was lucky enough to have grown up in the beautiful Whitsundays from the age of 8. Her passion for animals started at a young age on the farm surrounded by dogs, cats, sheep and emus!

After studying a Bachelor of Science with a Zoology major, she worked as a research assistant for 4 years before fulfilling her lifelong dream to become a Vet. When not working, Amberlee enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog Bella, eating good food, seeing friends and FaceTiming family.


Dr Georgia

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Dr Georgia joined the Tropical Vets team in Innisfail after graduating from JCU in 2022.

Georgia grew up in Innisfail on a small property with many animals of all kinds, with much of her time spent training and competing horses. Georgia has wanted to become a vet for as long as she can remember. She loves all aspects of mixed practice, however her passion is with all things horses. 

When not at work you’ll find her riding horses, coaching riding lessons, training agility with her dogs or hiking to find a beautiful view or waterfall. 


Dr Micaela

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Micaela joined the Ingham Tropical Vets team earlier this year after graduating from uni in Townsville. 

Growing up near the beautiful Daintree has left Micaela with a passion for the outdoors including hiking, camping and exploring the local area. 

Having always owned and competed horses, Micaela has a keen interest in large animals and hopes to continue competing this year on her horse, Hotshot.

Micaela has two dogs, Bear and Shino, and looks forward to meeting and caring for your fur babies!


Dr Teagan

Veterinarian (BVetBio BVSc)

Teagan grew up in Canberra and wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age. She grew up with lots of different animals and was obsessed with horses. 

After some years spent globetrotting and Jillarooing in the NT, Teagan moved to Wagga Wagga to complete her veterinary studies. In July 2022, Teagan graduated from Charles Sturt University and joined the Tropical Vets team.

She enjoys the variety that mixed practice offers and has a keen interest in equine medicine, small animal medicine and clinical pathology. 

Outside the clinic, Teagan enjoys the outdoors and exploring her new surrounds in NQ, scouting local farmers' markets, cooking for loved ones and spending time with her husband and Weimaraner fur-baby, Zelka.


Dr Jemima

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Dr Jemima grew up in the Bountiful Burdekin. From a young age she wanted to be a vet, even having documented this dream in one of her Year 2 schoolbooks 🩺.

Starting off her vet career at a large mixed practice in Bundaberg, it wasn't long before the pull of the Burdekin was too strong, and Jemima decided it was time to come back home. 

To many, Jemima is known for her love of goats 🐐. She considers herself a true-blue Aussie sheila and in her spare time, she can be found elbow-deep in her garden or knee-deep fishing.


Dr Alana

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Alana grew up in Central NSW. After graduating from Charles Sturt University she worked in New Zealand for a few years before coming home. She then did locum work all over Australia, before deciding that FNQ is the best place to be! Alana loves all aspects of mixed practice and when not at work she’ll be hiking, camping or paddling on a lake somewhere. 


  

Chris Kelly

CEO (MBA, GradCertMgmt, BProfSt, DipLdrshp, DipWHS)

Chris has spent most of his working career in operations which includes highlights such as 15 years in the military, then transitioning to the DFAT where he worked as part of a worldwide contingency on the Ebola epidemic. 

Chris would normally be found playing with his much-loved toy poodle or travelling with his family.
