We invest heavily in our staff to promote a healthy and happy work-life balance, and we listen to their feedback, needs and concerns. We currently employ around 70 permanent staff across our six clinics, of which 43% have been with us for over 5 years, and 14% have been with us for over 10 years. We also have a number of valued casual and support staff members.

Operating six major clinics and three satellite clinics from Atherton to Ayr, we employ over 100 passionate professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care for all kinds of pets - from small critters to large animals. Each of our clinics is locally owned and managed, deeply embedded in the communities we serve.

Beyond our clinical excellence, we're proud advocates for remote community animal welfare, supporting numerous animal refuges and wildlife rescues across the region. Our commitment to both our team and our community makes us an employer of choice in North Queensland.

The Opportunity

HR Operations & Support

· Handle escalated HR matters from Team Leaders and the Clinic Support Coordinator

· Drive recruitment processes from enquiry through to onboarding

· Administer performance management processes and documentation

· Conduct exit interviews and prepare comprehensive reports

· Investigate workplace issues in accordance with policies and legislation

Systems & Administration

· Review and update HR policies and procedures

· Maintain HR systems ensuring data accuracy and compliance

· Prepare detailed reports for senior management

· Conduct monthly WHS meetings and maintain accurate minutes

· Coordinate staff surveys and feedback processes

Training & Development

· Develop and maintain annual training calendar

· Support career progression planning for all staff

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

· Relevant HR qualification or equivalent experience in HR administration

· Proven experience with HR compliance and Australian workplace legislation

· Comprehensive understanding of Fair Work legislation and awards

· Working knowledge of WorkCover requirements and OH&S legislation

· Experience with Mental Health Framework implementation (desirable)

Skills & Attributes:

· Exceptional organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail

· Strong written and verbal communication abilities

· High level of professional maturity and independent work capability

· Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion

· Strong problem-solving skills and objective approach to conflict resolution

· Report writing skills with ability to present clear information to senior management

Please note: While experience in a veterinary or healthcare environment would be advantageous, it is not essential. We value HR expertise and are happy to provide industry-specific training.

What We Offer

· Be part of a well-established, respected organisation celebrating 50 years in business

· Work with a diverse team of over 100 professionals across multiple locations

· Attractive salary package based on qualifications and experience

· AVA Employer of Choice
